VDH: 23 new cases reported in Southwest Virginia; no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 117,141 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state on Wednesday.

The total number of probable and confirmed cases in Virginia is 122,542.

VDH said there have been 2,508 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state along with 133 probable COVID-19 deaths.

On Wednesday, VDH reported 9,610 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 68 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 125 cases / 8 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (4 new cases)
Buchanan County – 99 cases / 6 hospitalizations/ 1 death
Dickenson County – 68 cases / 7 hospitalizations / 1 death (1 new case)
Lee County – 214 cases / 17 hospitalizations/ 3 deaths (4 new cases)
Norton – 27 cases / 2 hospitalizations (1 new case)
Russell County – 189 cases / 21 hospitalizations / 4 deaths (1 new case)
Scott County – 156 cases / 14 hospitalizations / 4 deaths
Smyth County – 282 cases / 26 hospitalizations / 5 deaths (1 new case)
Tazewell County – 198 cases / 14 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (3 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 381 cases / 35 hospitalizations / 9 deaths (6 new cases/ 3 new hospitalizations)
Wise County – 334 cases / 30 hospitalizations / 5 deaths (2 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)

On Wednesday, VDH reported 23 new cases in Southwest Virginia.

No new deaths were reported in Southwest Virginia on Wednesday.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
