VDH: 20 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths reported in Southwest Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 and no new confirmed deaths related to the virus in Southwest Virginia on Saturday.

Washington County, Virginia reported five fewer cases of COVID-19, bringing the region’s net gain to 15 cases.

Statewide, VDH reported 530,751 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 682,433.

VDH reports there have been 9,665 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,594 cases / 119 hospitalizations / 37 deaths (7 new cases / 2 new hospitalizations)
Buchanan County – 1,557 cases / 117 hospitalizations / 45 deaths (3 new cases)
Dickenson County – 1,006 cases / 46 hospitalizations / 18 deaths (2 new cases)
Lee County – 2,433 cases / 113 hospitalizations / 49 deaths (1 new hospitalization)
Norton – 293 cases / 19 hospitalizations / 7 deaths (1 new case)
Russell County – 2,312 cases / 134 hospitalizations / 40 deaths
Scott County – 1,879 cases / 131 hospitalizations / 60 deaths (1 new case)
Smyth County – 2,992 cases / 207 hospitalizations / 96 deaths (2 new cases)
Tazewell County – 3,768 cases / 180 hospitalizations / 75 deaths (1 new hospitalization)
Washington County, Va. – 5,036 cases / 436 hospitalizations / 111 deaths (-5 cases / -2 hospitalizations)
Wise County – 3,288 cases / 175 hospitalizations / 104 deaths (4 new cases)
