VDH: 2 new COVID-19 deaths in Washington County

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 157,213 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth on Tuesday.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 167,754.

VDH reports there have been 3,236 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

VDH reported Tuesday morning that there are 11,955 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 110 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 236 cases / 17 hospitalizations/ 7 deaths
Buchanan County – 239 cases / 15 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (4 new cases)
Dickenson County – 121 cases / 8 hospitalizations/ 1 death
Lee County – 400 cases / 33 hospitalizations/ 9 deaths (8 new cases)
Norton – 45 cases / 5 hospitalizations (1 new case)
Russell County – 414 cases / 35 hospitalizations / 8 deaths (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Scott County – 289 cases / 22 hospitalizations / 5 deaths (10 new cases)
Smyth County – 603 cases / 53 hospitalizations / 24 deaths (7 new cases)
Tazewell County – 421 cases / 19 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (3 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 845 cases / 77 hospitalizations / 25 deaths (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization/ 2 new deaths)
Wise County – 534 cases / 37 hospitalizations / 9 deaths (7 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)

On Tuesday, VDH reported 48 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia and two new deaths in Washington County.

Scott County reported 10 new cases on Tuesday.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
