VDH: 16 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths related to the virus on Monday.

Statewide, VDH reported 509,164 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 654,929.

VDH reports there have been 8,995 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,430 cases / 90 hospitalizations / 32 deaths (1 new case)
Buchanan County – 1,397 cases / 100 hospitalizations / 38 deaths
Dickenson County – 918 cases / 40 hospitalizations / 15 deaths
Lee County – 2,411 cases / 109 hospitalizations / 46 deaths (1 new case)
Norton – 265 cases / 18 hospitalizations / 7 deaths
Russell County – 2,233 cases / 129 hospitalizations / 36 deaths
Scott County – 1,790 cases / 121 hospitalizations / 52 deaths
Smyth County – 2,802 cases / 192 hospitalizations / 91 deaths (8 new cases)
Tazewell County – 3,558 cases / 156 hospitalizations / 65 deaths (2 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 4,781 cases / 401 hospitalizations / 104 deaths (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 3,090 cases / 159 hospitalizations / 95 deaths
