VDH: 130 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 130 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths related to the virus in Southwest Virginia Wednesday.

Statewide, VDH reported 549,561 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 713,195.

VDH reports there have been 9,780 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,685 cases / 131 hospitalizations / 38 deaths (6 new cases)
Buchanan County – 1,640 cases / 122 hospitalizations / 46 deaths (3 new cases)
Dickenson County – 1,045 cases / 47 hospitalizations / 19 deaths (3 new cases)
Lee County – 2,507 cases / 116 hospitalizations / 48 deaths (12 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Norton – 333 cases / 19 hospitalizations / 7 deaths (4 new cases)
Russell County – 2,389 cases / 135 hospitalizations / 40 deaths (9 new cases)
Scott County – 1,993 cases / 135 hospitalizations / 61 deaths (17 new cases)
Smyth County – 3,105 cases / 210 hospitalizations / 95 deaths (21 new cases)
Tazewell County – 3,905 cases / 191 hospitalizations / 76 deaths (9 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Washington County, Va. – 5,286 cases / 450 hospitalizations / 115 deaths (28 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Wise County – 3,487 cases / 188 hospitalizations / 106 deaths (18 new cases)
