VDH: 120 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 120 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths related to the virus in Southwest Virginia on Monday.

On Friday, 41 new cases had been reported in Southwest Virginia.

Statewide, VDH reported 540,152 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 697,939.

VDH reports there have been 9,738 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,638 cases / 125 hospitalizations / 36 deaths (9 new cases)
Buchanan County – 1,591 cases / 122 hospitalizations / 46 deaths (8 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Dickenson County – 1,025 cases / 47 hospitalizations / 19 deaths (8 new cases)
Lee County – 2,470 cases / 115 hospitalizations / 48 deaths (11 new cases)
Norton – 309 cases / 19 hospitalizations / 7 deaths (6 new cases)
Russell County – 2,336 cases / 134 hospitalizations / 40 deaths
Scott County – 1,927 cases / 133 hospitalizations / 61 deaths (13 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Smyth County – 3,036 cases / 208 hospitalizations / 96 deaths (15 new cases)
Tazewell County – 3,811 cases / 185 hospitalizations / 76 deaths (14 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Washington County, Va. – 5,158 cases / 444 hospitalizations / 115 deaths (15 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 3,375 cases / 185 hospitalizations / 105 deaths (21 new cases)
