VDH: 106 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 106 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths related to the virus in Southwest Virginia Tuesday.

Statewide, VDH reported 548,301 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases is 711,078.

VDH reports there have been 9,778 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 1,679 cases / 131 hospitalizations / 38 deaths (9 new cases/ 2 new hospitalizations)
Buchanan County – 1,637 cases / 122 hospitalizations / 46 deaths (13 new cases)
Dickenson County – 1,042 cases / 47 hospitalizations / 19 deaths (5 new cases)
Lee County – 2,495 cases / 115 hospitalizations / 48 deaths (4 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Norton – 329 cases / 19 hospitalizations / 7 deaths (1 new case)
Russell County – 2,380 cases / 135 hospitalizations / 40 deaths (12 new cases)
Scott County – 1,976 cases / 135 hospitalizations / 61 deaths (9 new cases)
Smyth County – 3,084 cases / 210 hospitalizations / 95 deaths (7 new cases)
Tazewell County – 3,896 cases / 189 hospitalizations / 76 deaths (10 new cases)
Washington County, Va. – 5,258 cases / 448 hospitalizations / 115 deaths (17 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 3,469 cases / 188 hospitalizations / 106 deaths (19 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
