VDH: 104 new COVID-19 cases reported in Southwest Virginia, no new deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WJHL) – The Virginia Department of Health reported 164,308 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth on Wednesday.

According to VDH, the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 176,754.

VDH reports there have been 3,364 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths across the state.

VDH reported Wednesday morning that there are 12,248 confirmed hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 136 probable virus-related hospitalizations.

Note: VDH does not report whether cases are active or recovered. County and community case totals can include active, recovered, confirmed and probable cases.

Bristol, Va. – 277 cases / 19 hospitalizations/ 7 deaths (7 new cases)
Buchanan County – 266 cases / 15 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (3 new cases)
Dickenson County – 142 cases / 8 hospitalizations/ 1 death (5 new cases)
Lee County – 496 cases / 33 hospitalizations/ 10 deaths (17 new cases)
Norton – 51 cases / 5 hospitalizations (1 new case)
Russell County – 483 cases / 41 hospitalizations / 8 deaths (5 new cases)
Scott County – 392 cases / 28 hospitalizations / 6 deaths (25 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Smyth County – 627 cases / 55 hospitalizations / 27 deaths (3 new cases)
Tazewell County – 519 cases / 25 hospitalizations/ 2 deaths (5 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)
Washington County, Va. – 994 cases / 89 hospitalizations / 26 deaths (14 new case/ 1 new hospitalization)
Wise County – 638 cases / 43 hospitalizations / 10 deaths (19 new cases/ 1 new hospitalization)

On Wednesday, VDH reported 104 new COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia and no new deaths.

Scott County reported 25 new cases on Wednesday.

The Virginia Department of Health does not report recoveries from the virus.
