TDH reports 39,848 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday; 84 active cases in NE TN

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 39,848 confirmed cases and 324 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Saturday, an increase of 728 total cases since Friday.

The department also announced 560 confirmed deaths, 2,564 hospitalizations, and 26,159 recoveries. More than 748,000 coronavirus tests have been administered.

TDH reported 17 new cases in our region Saturday.

There are now 89 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 69 cases on Thursday based on TDH data.

The following data was reported for local counties:

Carter — 49 cases / 1 death / 30 recoveries
Greene — 74 cases / 2 deaths / 54 recoveries
Hawkins — 45 cases / 2 deaths / 35 recoveries
Johnson — 34 cases / 24 recoveries
Sullivan — 83 cases / 2 deaths / 70 recoveries
Unicoi — 53 cases / 52 recoveries
Washington — 121 cases / 98 recoveries
