TDH reports 277 new COVID-19 cases, one new death in NE Tennessee on Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 236,518 confirmed cases and 13,348 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Monday, an increase of 2,279 total cases since Sunday.

The health department also announced 2,999 confirmed deaths, 1,098 current hospitalizations, and 219,230 recovered or inactive cases. More than 3.5 million coronavirus tests have been reported. 

On Sunday, TDH reported 234,320 confirmed cases and 2,971 confirmed deaths. 

One new death was reported Monday in Carter County.

TDH reported 277 new cases in our area: 93 in Washington County, 62 in Greene County, 56 in Sullivan County, 27 in Carter County, 17 in Hawkins County, 15 in Unicoi County, and seven in Johnson County.

The state health department also reported 97 new inactive/recovered cases in our area.

There are currently 2,559 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 2,380 on Sunday.
