TDH: 53,116 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee

39 new cases reported in our area

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 53,116 confirmed cases and 398 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Tuesday, an increase of 1,359 total cases since Monday.

The health department also announced 640 confirmed deaths, 2,950 hospitalizations, and 31,827 recoveries. More than 920,801 coronavirus tests have been administered. 

On Monday, TDH reported 51,774 confirmed cases and 628 confirmed deaths. 

TDH reported 39 new cases in our area on Tuesday: 20 cases in Sullivan County, eight in Washington County, five in Carter County, three in Greene County, two in Hawkins County, and one in Johnson County. 19 new recoveries were reported in our area.

There are currently 182 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 162 active cases on Monday based on TDH data.

Greene — 117 cases / 2 deaths / 78 recoveries
Hawkins — 64 cases / 2 deaths / 47 recoveries
Johnson — 45 cases / 33 recoveries
Sullivan — 141 cases / 2 deaths / 93 recoveries
Unicoi — 55 cases / 53 recoveries
Washington — 182 cases / 128 recoveries
