TDH: 51,061 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee; 16 new cases in Washington County

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 51,061 confirmed cases and 370 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Sunday, an increase of 1,291 total cases since Saturday.

The health department also announced 621 confirmed deaths, 2,871 hospitalizations, and 30,254 recoveries. More than 895,000 novel coronavirus tests have been administered.

On Saturday, TDH reported 49,768 confirmed cases and 612 confirmed deaths.

Twenty-two new cases were reported in our area: 2 in Greene County, 16 in Washington County, 1 in Sullivan County, 1 in Hawkins County, and 2 in Carter County.

TDH reported 6 new recoveries in our area on Sunday.

There are now 150 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 128 on Saturday, based on TDH data.

Greene — 103 cases / 2 deaths / 71 recoveries
Hawkins — 57 cases / 2 deaths / 42 recoveries
Johnson — 44 cases / 30 recoveries
Sullivan — 117 cases / 2 deaths / 84 recoveries
Unicoi — 55 cases / 53 recoveries
Washington — 165 cases / 116 recoveries
