TDH: 46,520 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee, 17 new cases locally

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 46,520 confirmed cases and 370 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Thursday, an increase of 1,575 total cases since Wednesday.

The department also announced 594 confirmed deaths, 2,775 hospitalizations, and 28,938 recoveries. More than 838,000 coronavirus tests have been administered.

On Wednesday, TDH reported 44,951 confirmed cases and 583 confirmed deaths.

The health department reported 17 new cases in our area: 10 new cases in Sullivan County, four in Hawkins County, and one each in Greene, Johnson, and Unicoi counties. Nine new recoveries were reported.

There are now 120 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 112 active cases on Wednesday based on TDH data.

Carter — 56 cases / 1 death / 41 recoveries
Greene — 86 cases / 2 deaths / 58 recoveries
Hawkins — 55 cases / 2 deaths / 40 recoveries
Johnson — 38 cases / 25 recoveries
Sullivan — 101 cases / 2 deaths / 76 recoveries
Unicoi — 55 cases / 52 recoveries
Washington — 134 cases / 106 recoveries
