TDH: 43,161 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 43,161 confirmed cases and 348 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Tuesday, an increase of 1,212 total cases since Monday.

The department also announced 578 confirmed deaths, 2,665 hospitalizations, and 27,599 recoveries. More than 792,000 coronavirus tests have been administered.

On Monday, TDH reported 41,949 confirmed cases and 568 confirmed deaths.

Fifteen new cases were reported in our area: four in Greene County; three in Washington County; two each in Carter, Hawkins, and Sullivan counties; and one each in Unicoi and Johnson counties. TDH also reported 17 new recoveries.

There are now 107 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, down from 109 cases on Monday based on TDH data.

The following data was reported for local counties:

Carter — 54 cases / 1 death / 36 recoveries
Greene — 85 cases / 2 deaths / 56 recoveries
Hawkins — 51 cases / 2 deaths / 39 recoveries
Johnson — 36 cases / 25 recoveries
Sullivan — 89 cases / 2 deaths / 74 recoveries
Unicoi — 54 cases / 52 recoveries
Washington — 131 cases / 104 recoveries
