TDH: 31,612 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee, 6 new cases locally

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 31,612 confirmed cases and 218 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Tuesday, an increase of 670 total cases since Monday. 

The department also said there have been 472 confirmed deaths, 2,146 hospitalizations, and 20,710 recoveries. More than 638,000 coronavirus tests have been administered. 

On Monday, TDH reported 30,951 confirmed cases and 462 confirmed deaths.

Six new cases were reported in our area: two in Carter County, two in Greene County, one in Hawkins County, and one in Washington County. The case count for Unicoi County went down by one.

There are now 24 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up one case from Monday based on TDH data. Carter, Greene, and Hawkins counties now have active cases after having none on Monday.

Sullivan — 70 cases / 2 deaths / 67 recoveries
Unicoi — 52 cases / 50 recoveries
Washington — 91 cases / 77 recoveries
