TDH: 264 new COVID-19 cases, 2 new deaths reported in Northeast Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 212,116 confirmed cases and 10,711 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Thursday, an increase of 2,289 total cases since Wednesday.

The health department also announced 2,731 confirmed deaths, 1,149 current hospitalizations, and 200,164 recovered or inactive cases. More than 3.2 million coronavirus tests have been administered. 

Two new deaths were reported in Northeast Tennessee on Thursday, both in Sullivan County.

TDH reported 264 new cases locally: 84 in Sullivan County, 23 in Hawkins County, 54 in Washington County, 52 in Greene County, 20 in Carter County, 21 in Unicoi County, and 10 in Johnson County.

There are currently 1,575 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 1,419 on Wednesday.
