TDH: 129 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths in Sullivan County since Friday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 215,062 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 11,077 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Saturday, an increase of 2,646 total cases since Friday.

The health department also announced 2,770 confirmed deaths, 1,166 current hospitalizations, and 203,586 recovered or inactive cases. More than 3.2 million coronavirus tests have been administered. 

Two new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Sullivan County on Saturday, the county in Northeast Tennessee that experienced the largest spike in COVID-19 numbers with a 129-case growth since Friday, Oct. 16.

TDH reported 260 new cases locally, and second to Sullivan County was Washington County, with 59 new COVID-19 cases.

There are currently 1,500 active COVID-19 cases in Northeast Tennessee.
