Six new COVID-19 deaths reported in Northeast Tennessee on Thursday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 180,793 confirmed cases and 6,751 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Thursday, an increase of 835 total cases since Wednesday.

The health department also announced 2,221 confirmed deaths, 708 current hospitalizations, and 171,153 recovered or inactive cases. More than 2.7 million coronavirus tests have been administered. 

On Wednesday, TDH reported 180,083 confirmed cases and 2,192 confirmed deaths. 

Six new deaths were reported in our area on Thursday: four in Greene County and one each in Sullivan and Washington counties.

TDH reported 70 new cases locally: 28 in Sullivan County, 13 in Johnson County, 11 in Greene County, seven in Washington County, six in Carter County, three in Hawkins County, and two in Unicoi County.

TDH also reported 65 new recoveries in our area.

There are currently 739 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, down from 740 active cases on Wednesday.
