Seven new COVID-19 deaths reported in Northeast Tennessee on Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 187,197 confirmed cases and 7,414 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Tuesday, an increase of 879 total cases since Monday.

The health department also announced 2,325 confirmed deaths, 795 current hospitalizations, and 177,945 recovered or inactive cases. More than 2.8 million coronavirus tests have been administered. 

On Monday, TDH reported 186,499 confirmed cases and 2,296 confirmed deaths. 

Seven new deaths were reported in Northeast Tennessee on Tuesday: two each in Greene, Hawkins, and Washington counties and one in Johnson County.

TDH reported 43 new local cases: 18 in Washington County; 11 in Sullivan County; four in Hawkins County; three each in Greene, Johnson, and Unicoi counties; and one in Carter County.

TDH also reported 87 new recovered or inactive cases.

There are currently 789 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, down from 840 on Monday.
