Nine new COVID-19 deaths reported Monday in Northeast Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 362 new COVID-19 cases, nine new deaths, and 194 new inactive or recovered cases in Northeast Tennessee on Monday.

Three new deaths were reported in Greene County while two each were reported in Carter, Unicoi, and Washington counties. Washington County reached the 100 mark Monday.

Northeast Tennessee’s 14-day average of daily COVID deaths remained near its high of 7.00 after nine new deaths were reported Monday.

TDH reported 147 new cases in Sullivan County, 94 in Washington County, 41 in Greene County, 32 in Hawkins County, 25 in Carter County, 14 in Unicoi County, and nine in Johnson County.

There are currently 2,884 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 2,725 on Sunday.

Statewide, 4,074 new cases, 35 new deaths, 29 new hospitalizations, and 28,457 new tests were reported.
