Russell County Public Schools to be on virtual model through Jan. 8

RUSSELL COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) – Russell County Public Schools plans to start the spring semester on a virtual learning model.

According to a post from RCPS, students will start the semester on January 4 online.

Students will remain on a virtual format through January 8, according to RCPS.

The school district chose to remain virtual due to the increase in the COVID-19 positivity rate in the region.

Unicoi County Schools to continue virtual learning through Feb. 5

ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL) — Unicoi County Schools announced Thursday night that it will stick with virtual learning through Feb. 5.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - State lawmakers anticipate discussing topics such as student learning loss and teacher pay at next week's special legislative session on education. The special session was called by Governor Bill Lee and begins Jan. 19th.
