TDH: Over 60K confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee; 83 new cases locally, 9 new recoveries

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Health reported 60,508 confirmed cases and 498 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Saturday, an increase of 1,460 total cases since Friday.

The health department also announced 711 confirmed deaths, 3,193 hospitalizations, and 35,435 recoveries. More than a million coronavirus tests have been administered. 

On FridayTDH reported 59,085 confirmed cases and 697 confirmed deaths. 

Saturday, TDH reported 83 new cases in our area: 26 in Washington County, 21 in Sullivan County, 16 in Carter County, 13 in Greene County, three in Hawkins County, and one in Johnson County. Nine new recoveries were reported.

There are now 355 active cases in Northeast Tennessee, up from 283 active cases on Friday based on TDH data.

Carter — 103 cases / 1 death / 54 recoveries
Greene — 151 cases / 2 deaths / 92 recoveries
Hawkins — 86 cases / 2 deaths / 54 recoveries
Johnson — 46 cases / 37 recoveries
Sullivan — 210 cases / 4 deaths / 117 recoveries
Unicoi — 59 cases / 53 recoveries
Washington — 261 cases / 145 recoveries
