This week’s Community Hero made a huge impression on someone in a very short amount of time.
Giles Sartin is an E-M-T with C-Trans Medical Services of Southwest Virgina.
He was nominated by a patient he served, Sarah Ward. Sarah tells us it all started when Giles and his partner transported her home from the hospital.
She says Giles looked around her home and started doing things she couldn’t physically do.. like picking up trash around the house and taking it outside.
More importantly, he noticed her curtains and a cord had been burned by a heater. She says he quickly moved everything.. including furniture… to prevent any further risk of fire. He and his partner ended-up checking the entire house for hazards.
Sarah says if it wasn’t for him, her house.. including mementos of her late husband.. could’ve been lost.
Congratultions, Giles Sartin.. this week’s Community Hero.
