Slater has been with News Channel 11 since 2017. He joined the team as a television producer before transitioning to his current role of digital producer.
Raised in Mount Carmel and Kingsport, Slater has lived in and around the Model City for most of his life with brief stints in Chattanooga and Knoxville. He is a graduate of Sullivan South High School, Northeast State Community College, and East Tennessee State University and has bachelor’s degrees in mass communication and political science.
Slater enjoys playing guitar, cycling, fishing, and attending ETSU basketball games.
