Katherine Simpson returned to her hometown of Johnson City to join News Channel 11 as a reporter in November 2022.
Her journalism career has taken shape across the country and in all different media. She’s reported on everything from city government in Indianapolis, IN for radio to local agribusinesses in Yolo County, CA for print.
She’s passionate about listening to people’s stories and telling them with integrity and sensitivity, whether profiling a local florist or interviewing former presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
When she’s not in the field reporting, you can find Katherine swimming laps, baking sourdough or curled up on the couch with a book and a cup of coffee.
