Kate Nemarich joined the WJHL News Channel 11 team as a reporter in March 2021.
Born and raised in Annapolis, MD Kate has spent her post-college years getting to know other parts of the country. Before coming to Johnson City, Kate worked as a producer in New Orleans, LA, and in Wilmington, NC. During her time producing, she covered major events such as the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, the historic 2020 hurricane season, and much more. She’s excited to get in front of the camera and tell the stories of the Tri-Cities area.
Kate’s parents will say she’s a born storyteller. To this day, most phone calls start with “I have a story!” That passion first took her to the stage performing in many productions in high school and college. She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington majoring in Performance Theater and Broadcast Journalism. In college, she joined the school TV station and further developed a love of news, acting as both a reporter and producer for Seahawk Central TV.
When not working, she loves to go for runs, hike (send her your best trails to check out!), travel, and check out local coffee shops and restaurants. You can reach her at knemarich@wjhl.com.
