Jesse Krull is new to the South, being born and raised in Minneapolis and coming from fellow Nexstar station KCAU9in Sioux City. The love of sports started at an early age when he and his dad would go to Twin-Cities sporting events when he was little. From there, the passion took off. He played numerous sports in Eden Prairie while growing up, but focused mostly on football, which he won a state championship his senior year. During high school, he was also part of the student media organization called Eagle Vision and was the sports anchor for three years.
Following that, Jesse was looking to continue his career but decided because of health reasons to turn his focus to his journalism career. While attending the University of St. Thomas, he worked for the student media organization TommieMedia, in which he was able to cover plenty of successful sports teams and report on a handful of national championship games. Outside of school, he also worked at KFAN-FM 100.3, WCCO-TV, Fox Sports North and the Star Tribune Sports Hubs.
After graduating from college, the next step in his journey brought him to Sioux City, where he worked there for nearly three years. During his time at KCAU9, he was able to cover some of the most important sporting events this world has to offer including the Super Bowl, the Final Four, the NHL Draft and the NAIA national championship game.
Outside of work, Jesse loves getting outside and exploring new areas. He also loves watching sports, especially hockey (GO WILD!). He’s excited to be living in a new region and experiencing what the Tri-Cities area has to offer. He would love to tell your stories, so just email him at jkrull@wjhl.com
