Chris Bundgaard

To the surprise of some including himself, Chris Bundgaard has managed to last more than 40 years in television news. He’s worked as a reporter, producer, and assignment editor. Once in a while, the Minnesota native did all three at the same time.

During that time he has been honored for reporting, writing and producing newscasts, both in Tennessee and during another life in Utah.

It includes several Edward R. Murrow regional awards, Emmys and numerous Tennessee Associated Press Broadcast awards

By the late 1990s, Chris finally figured out that he wanted to be a full-time reporter so he hit “the street” on a regular basis.

One of those roads led to Tennessee’s Capitol Hill where his reports are now are seen daily on Nexstar stations in Memphis, Knoxville and the Tri-Cities along with Nashville.

Previous stops in Corpus Christi, Salt Lake City, and the Twin Cities added a Spanish, Mormon and Lake Wobegone influence to his resume.

Chris studied psychology at St. Olaf College, then developed a latent interest in journalism during graduate school at the University of Minnesota. That interest still grows.
