Amy Cockerham joined the WJHL team in November 2020. Amy grew up in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, home of Andy Griffith. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Broadcast Journalism & Dramatic Art.
She has experience interning with three stations across North Carolina, including WXII, WNCN and Spectrum News. While in college, she also spent a semester studying journalism in London.
When she’s not reporting, she loves taking dance classes and working on service projects. She is excited to become a resident of East Tennessee and begin telling the stories of the people of the Tri-Cities region.
