Mark's Weather Blog: Showers overnight and Wednesday morning - Temperatures warm this weekend!

Tuesday, April 24, 2018 -

Good Evening.  A slow moving low pressure system across Tennessee continues to produce rain across the area tonight.  You can see the counter-clockwise spin of the low over east Tennessee on this water vapor imagery form College of DuPage.

The clouds and showers kept out temperatures in the 60's today.

We keep the rain in the forecast overnight into early Wednesday with scattered showers through the afternoon.

7 AM Wednesday:

Noon Wednesday - The heavier rains move off to our east and we keep the chance of scattered showers.

4 PM Wednesday - There could be a few breaks in the clouds with scattered showers.

8 PM Wednesday - The low pressure system is finally to our east, but now a new weather maker moves in from the west on Thursday,

3 PM Thursday - Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible.

We keep the showers and a few possible thunderstorms in Thursday evening.

We will see a cold front move through the Tennessee Valley on Friday which will bring clouds and a chance of scattered showers to the area.

Temperatures will warm over the weekend into next week as high pressure builds into the east.;

Look at the ridge of high pressure along the east coast for early next week.  This will allow for temperatures to warm,  Image:  Unisys - (I added the arrows and the High and Low)

Temperatures will be close to 80 degrees early next week,
