Johnson City man charged with attempted second-degree murder after shooting at Austin Springs Road apartment complex

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

A Johnson City man was arrested for attempted second-degree murder following a report of a shooting at an Austin Springs apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

According to a Johnson City Police Department news release, several shots were fired the parking lot at Austin Springs Terrace Apartments, 293 S. Austin Springs Road, just after midnight.

When officers arrived, they learned that a resident of the apartment complex fired the shots and another person had been shot once in the abdomen.

Investigators arrested Joshua A. Stevens, 19, 293 Austin Springs Road, Apt. 95. He was charged with attempted second-degree murder, reckless endangerment and possession of schedule IV narcotics for resale.

Stevens was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $200,000 bond.

He was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Wednesday for his arraignment at 9 a.m.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
