HAMPTON, TN (WJHL) -
Fire and smoke damaged a business and two upstairs apartments in Hampton, Tennessee Wednesday night.

The call for help came just before 8 p.m. from 503 First Avenue.   The first floor of the building is used for a business called "3 B's Consignment Shop."

Both the shop and an upstairs apartment sustained mostly smoke damage.

No one was hurt.

Fire Chief John Isaacs said it appears the cause was electrical in nature.   The families who live in the apartments will be able to remain in the homes.

Hampton Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Carter County EMS and the Carter County Sheriff's Office.
