WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) - Nearly $18,000 worth of a substance believed to be the drug "gravel" was seized by Washington County sheriff's deputies.

Sheriff Ed Graybeal said investigators were called to the home of Amber Sue Ann McCurry, 24, 496 Treadway Trail Road on a report that someone was being held against their will at that address.

When deputies got there, they found numerous items of drug paraphernalia all over the house, along with items that indicated distribution of a controlled substance.

Investigators received consent from Dyann Hale, 50, who was described at the head of the household at the Treadway Trail Road address and who was currently jailed on a "gravel" possession charge, to search the house.

Approximately 64 grams of what was thought to be "gravel" was found. "Gravel" is a synthetic drug that contains the chemical Pyrrolidinopentiophenone (Alpha-PVP).

Investigators think a gram of "gravel" sells for $280, so the total estimated worth of the discovery was $17,920.
More than $2,100 in cash was also seized from the home.

The recent arrest of two woman and the discovery of $8,400 in "gravel" at a motel in Sullivan County was believed to be linked to this find, Graybeal said.

McCurry was charged with possession of synthetic analogues for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond.

McCurry also had an outstanding warrant for violation of probation in Carter County.

Anyone with information about "gravel," bath salts or other synthetic drugs is asked to call the sheriff's office at 423-788-1414.
