Tazewell County, VA (WJHL) -

Search and rescue operations have suspended for a missing hunter in Tazewell County, Virginia, but a law enforcement investigation is still underway.

News Channel 11 confirmed through sources that the decision to suspend the search was made tonight, four days after the search began for Eric Smith, 41, Cedar Bluff.

Smith was last seen walking away from his home to go hunting Friday morning.

Cedar Bluff Virginia Police as well as Virginia State Police, the Black Diamond Search and Rescue Team, and volunteers searched through the weekend for Smith.   We learned that all leads were investigated, but Smith was never found.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Eric Smith should contact the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office at (276) 963-3975, or call 911.
