2 killed in wreck in Franklin Co.

FRANKLINTON, N.C. -

The two people who died Thursday afternoon in Franklin County were identified Friday afternoon.

The driver was Alexandra Davis, 35, and the passenger was Joseph Davis, 44. They were married and from Raleigh.

The wreck happened at U.S. Highway 1 and Cheatham Street around 1 p.m. when their minivan went off the road and smashed into a utility pole.

Two witnesses saw the accident. They said the vehicle was taking an exit, ran off the road, went airborne, hit a utility pole, went another 150 feet and landed in the woods. Both passengers were ejected from gold 2006 Kia van.
