ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - An Asheville woman charged with killing an unborn child while working as a midwife has now been charged with assaulting the mother.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported that a Buncombe County grand jury has indicted 44-year-old Tina Louise Bailey with assault while the mother was in labor.

The indictment does not offer details of what happened on July 23, 2013. The woman checked herself into Mission Hospital in Asheville that day and her baby was stillborn.

Bailey had been charged in March with murder of an unborn child. Those charges said she mishandled the delivery while representing herself as a midwife with a license with a different name.

A state regulatory board had ordered her to stop practicing as a midwife.

It was not clear if Bailey has a lawyer.
