WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

A Jonesborough man was arrested this week for allegedly having inappropriate sexual activity with a teenage girl.

According to Sheriff Ed Graybeal, Michael Joseph Clay was arrested following an investigation into complaints he had sexual contact with a juvenile.

The investigation revealed 48-year-old Clay and the teenage girl and received and sent "inappropriate photographs" via cell phone. In addition, it's believed that he had inappropriate contact with the victim at least 4 different times.

Clay, of Roy Phillips Road, was charged with 4 counts of aggravated statutory rape. His bond was set at $100,000 and he is expected to appear in Washington County Sessions Court on Wednesday.
