14-year-old identified as driver in fatal Fayetteville crash

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

A 14-year-old girl has been identified as the driver killed in a deadly crash in Fayetteville.

Police say Makayla Dooley, 14, lost control of the vehicle she was driving and crashed into a utility pole on Sunday, Aug.18. After crashing into the pole, the vehicle caught on fire.

Officers were called to a single-vehicle crash on Morganton Road near Bonanza Drive around 3:15 a.m. Sunday. Dooley was pronounced dead at the scene.
