Tip leads Kingsport police straight to drug deal

Kingsport Police say a complaint of drug activity led them right to a drug deal in progress.

Thursday night, vice detectives were investigating a complaint at 120 West Stone Drive, when they came upon Paul E. Tyndall and David J. Hayes, sitting in cars pulled up beside one another.

During a search, they say Tyndall was found to be in possession of 28 grams of marijuana, while Hayes had 9 grams of marijuana as well as a Taurus .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Paul Tyndall is charged with Possession of a Schedule VI Drug for Resale Within 1000 Feet of a City Park.

David Hayes was charged with Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Dru, and Going Armed.
