Update: THP confirms 1 dead after ambulance crash in Hawkins County

UPDATE: 

One person is dead and nine more are hurt after an accident in Hawkins County Saturday night.

According to the report an ambulance heading north bound on Highway 11W was running emergency traffic in Church Hill. The ambulance hit a Toyota Corolla with Samantha Hathaway, 18, of Church Hill, in it. After hitting Hathaway, the ambulance veered to the left hitting two more cars that were stopped at the traffic light waiting to turn left.

Hathaway was killed. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Charges are pending. Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating.

Breaking news out of Hawkins County, Hawkins County Dispatch confirms an ambulance has crashed at the intersection of 11 W and Silver Lake Road.  

Dispatch tells us three cars are also involved. 

Emergency crews are on the scene and dispatch confirms there are injuries.

We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.
