JOHNSON COUNTY, TN (WJHL-TV) -

News Channel 11 has learned that a Johnson County fugitive has been arrested after a high speed chase Thursday morning.

Richard Shane Mabe was apprehended after a chase and foot pursuit by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. The high speed pursuit happened on Highway 91, heading towards Damascus, VA.

Mabe and the driver, Timothy Greer, 29, fired several rounds at police.

The two then car jacked a customer at the Marathon gas station off Highway 91. The pursuit ended when deputies rammed the stolen car into a nearby ditch.

Both are charged with 4 counts of Assault on a Police Officer with a deadly weapon. More charges and more arrests are expected.

Earlier this week,  the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added Mabe to its top ten most wanted list in Tennessee.

Wednesday evening, Mabe's mother reached out to News Channel 11 with the urgent plea for her son to turn himself in.
