KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) -

Here's an update to the investigation from the Kingsport Police Department:

On May 17, 2013, the individual who identified himself as Charles Creadle was released from Holston Valley Hospital, arrested by Kingsport Police Officers, and booked into the Kingsport City Jail on the charge of Possession of over 26 grams of Cocaine for Resale.  This charge stems from him residing at the location where the drugs were found the night of the shooting.

Upon his arrival at the jail, new information surfaced to indicate that Creadle was living under a false identity.  A subsequent investigation revealed that the individual claiming to be Creadle was actually Damien Maurice Buxton.  An outstanding warrant for Buxton was being held by the Rockdale Sheriff's Office in Conyers, GA.  The investigation also revealed that Buxton was a convicted sex offender and had failed to register as such upon his arrival in Kingsport, TN.

Buxton has now been additionally charged with Identity Theft, being a Fugitive from Justice, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

The investigation into the actual shooting at Allen Creek Apartments on May 14, 2013 is still ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.
