Tom Hager

Thomas Hager announces his candidacy for the Johnson City School Board in the April 23, 2013 city election.

My main objective in seeking re-election is based on the belief that we must continue to provide a quality education for all student. Academic achievement, school safety, staff development, and technology will be my focus areas of improvement for this four year term. "Children are our future. The quality of our future depends on the quality of our educational leadership. Being an advocate for all students is most important. We face astounding challenges to fund the educational needs going forward. We should continue to strive for excellence in education in Johnson City. I believe the board's responsibility is to see that teachers have the support they need to enable students to be productive citizens by providing the necessary resources and a progressive learning environment.

He has served as the Northeast District Director for the Tennessee school Board Association. Tom has been recognized by the Tennessee School Board Association Boardmanship Program as a Level V Master School Board member. Three time Hager has received a Distinguished Service Award from the National School Board Association.
