Man accused of living with girlfriend's decomposing body

Posted: Updated:
Williamston, NC (WNCT) -

Authorities say a Williamston man lived with his dead girlfriend for several days instead of reporting her death.

Martin County Sheriff's Deputies say they responded to a residence on Ballard Road on Saturday, April 6, and found Carla Jean Baggett, who had been dead for several days.

Investigators determined Baggett was last seen alive on Wednesday, April 3. They say her body had already started to decompose and that Baggett's live-in boyfriend, Randall Edward Johnson, had been staying in the bedroom with her.

There's no cause of death yet, but investigators say there is no evidence of foul play.

Johnson was arrested on Saturday April 6 and charged with felony concealing a death from law enforcement.

He was placed under a $100,000 secured bond.
