Great American Cleanup Held in Johnson City Saturday

This is the time of year when most of us start cleaning out our garages and basements.

But old paint cans, batteries, and electronics can wreak havoc on the environment if they are not discarded properly.

Johnson City will take part in the Great American Cleanup on Saturday, March 23, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Items will be accepted at the following locations:

•Fairmont Elementary

•Mountain View Elementary

•Corner of Legion Street and State of Franklin Road
