Name of Abingdon murder victim revealed


We now know the name of the man allegedly murdered by his brother-in law yesterday morning...

The Washington County, VA Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Andres Antonio Droguett of Ashburn Virginia died from a gun shot to the head.

His brother-in-law, 26-year old Timothy James Mitchler will be arraigned on tomorrow.


One man is dead and another is charged with murder after a shooting in Washington County, VA.

The shooting happened at 15312 Whites Mill Rd. in Abingdon around 1:13 a.m.

Deputies found the victim inside the residence dead from a single gunshot wound.

Officers say the two are brothers-in-law, and had been consuming alcohol when an altercation occurred.

26-year-old Timothy James Mitchler is charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He is being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon without bond.
