Kindergarten registration dates announced for Johnson City Schools

JOHNSON CITY, TN -
The Johnson City School System will soon begin registration for children entering kindergarten in a Johnson City school for the 2013-2014 school year.
Registration packets will be available in March at elementary school offices and may be picked up before the day of registration during regular office hours.
To begin kindergarten, the child must be five years old on or before August 31. Children who are five on or before September 30, 2013, who attended a system preschool class may also register. Parents of children who are five on or before September 30 may request their child be assessed for kindergarten readiness. Those assessments will take place in June.
Registration times will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dates and locations are as follows:
Fairmont Elementary - April 29, 2013
Towne Acres Elementary - April 30, 2013
Cherokee Elementary - May 1, 2013
Mountain View Elementary - May 3, 2013
North Side Elementary - May 6, 2013
Woodland Elementary - May 7, 2013
South Side Elementary - May 8, 2013
Lake Ridge Elementary - May 9, 2013
The parent or guardian shoudl bring all of the following information on the day of registration:
Child's birth certificate or proof of age
Social Security card
Child's immunization and physical exam information.
