JCPD: 4 teens charged after found with LSD, marijuana at Science Hill H.S.

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - Four juveniles were arrested after school resource officers at Science Hill High School found the teens with LSD and marijuana Wednesday morning.

According to a Johnson City Police Department news release, an SRO at SHHS was notified around 8:30 a.m. that a male student needed assistance and upon arrival officers learned the student had taken LSD while at school.

Following an investigation, officials learned other students at the school had either used or had LSD in their possession while at school.

EMS crews responded to the scene on a welfare check of the students, and the parents of those involved were called.

According to the release, 106 hits of LSD and just under 11 grams of marijuana were seized, as well as $149 in cash was confiscated.

Police said two 16-year-old males were charged with possession of schedule I drugs with intent to sell. Another 16-year-old was charged with possession of schedule I drug and schedule VI drugs. Another 16-year-old was charged with possession of schedule I drugs.

All four teens were released to their parents and were scheduled to appear in Johnson City Juvenile Court on Oct. 7 at 9 a.m.
