USGS: Small earthquake reported in Unicoi, TN

UNICOI, TN (WJHL)  - The United States Geological Survey reports a 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck 5 kilometers east-southeast of Unicoi on Wednesday around 7:45 p.m.

If you felt the quake the USGS wants to hear from you, although earthquakes of this magnitude are not often associated with any major damage.

Did you feel it?  Report it here.

If you aren't sure what an earthquake might feel like, this is what the USGS says a small one will feel like a sharp jolt followed by a few stronger sharp shakes that quickly pass. A small earthquake, that is far away, will probably not be felt at all. If you feel it, says the USGS, it will be a subtle gentle shake or two and it would be easier to feel if you are standing still or sitting down.
