Busy Labor Day on area lakes

Hundreds of people took advantage of the holiday and the beautiful weather to hit area lakes. Hundreds of boats were on the lake today for Labor Day which is traditionally thought of as the unofficial close to summer. Many who did not have access to a boat spent the day at the Boone Lake Recreation Area near the dam with hundreds of people cooking out and enjoying the water on this near 90 degree day. To help keep things in line, there was a significant police presence both on the water and off. More>>

The newly opened Tweetsie Trail drew large crowds on Labor Day as people enjoyed the beautiful weather and the holiday with hundreds of walkers, runners and bike riders.
